Tune Into August Wahh's New Single 'Woo Woo'

August Wahh has a fresh new outlook with ‘Woo Woo’, her first release of 2021. The single is a nod to intuition - a relaxing, soul-swaying track produced by Manila-based Asch with artwork design by Mauritius-based studio and our very own electrocaïne.

Following the release of August’s eclectic Vivid EP, ‘Woo Woo’ follows a trail of invitations to trust your gut and to trust in the process. She says, “‘The song is about manifesting. I think everyone, even in their own subconscious way, prays for something they need, prays to some divine force to protect, provide, or to thank. I’m at a point in my life where I want to manifest things for myself and my future.”. And while many of us are chasing our dreams, August is attempting to attract hers instead. “I found that latching on too tightly to a desired outcome wasn’t working. So I tried just saying my wishes out loud, with the purest intentions, and then letting it go...and then doing the work!” the artist shares. With a trajectory like hers and a conviction to her calling, August might be onto something we ought to tune into.

The vibe kicks in from the get-go, with a leisurely sticky beat met gracefully by velvet-like vocals. The song was effortlessly pieced together, where Asch passed a fluid instrumental and August brought forth the messages in it. With technology cultivating the creation process, the whole track embodies practical magic.  “I chose Woo Woo as the title because it’s used as a low-key derogatory word for spiritual curiosities. People use it to make fun of faith, as if it was weird to talk about higher intuition.  To me, Woo Woo essentially is placing that trust within yourself that the universe will provide. Im sure there’s other words for it, but Woo Woo’s fucking catchy.”

The song flips the script on the naysayers indeed, turning the slur into a mantra. The hook is a meditative hooting, an owl-like incantation that soothes and woos you into a world where everything is smooth sailing.

The music video, shot in the hills of Antipolo, Philippines, was produced by Anak!Ng Studios and shows the artist in her element, in different perspectives. Dancing on the mountain tops, in the sunshine and fresh air, August exhibits the bliss in belief and the idea of chilling with intention.

‘Woo Woo’ is a wake-up-call-to-action, to relax and to try the law of attraction. The track is a gentle reminder that all is well and all will be well, if we will it to be.
