From inspired action to bittersweet realizations, from London to New York, from jazz to house, to back home in Manila - Vivid is an EP drawn from isolation and raised by remote collaboration and creation. August shares her artistic process with Tapes from Vivid’, a digital diary that gives us a glimpse into the making of Vivid and conversations with the artists featured on the release.

Out on October 2, the single Hue is a whimsical track that transcends genres and entangles the senses. Created with London-based producer Subculture, the music takes on the personality of a pragmatic romantic, if there ever was one.

Hue comes as a swirl of sweet emotions from self-completion - and the complementary love that that inevitably attracts. It speaks of the excitement that comes with making space for another, and accepting someone for all of what they are. The array of instrumental layers and the precision in which it delivers gives the song a synaesthetic feel that enhances August’s vocals. The melodies rise and fall, like an inhale followed by the exhale, while she finds herself in the bliss between balancing boundaries and letting your guard down.

Following the flow of inspiration, creation, and introspection, the first cut Eyes is an uplifting piece with a grounding bassline, bearing testament to life’s pure beauty and the joy in uncertainties, while the closing Press Play embodies the state of love limbo with a meditative 4/4 rhythm.

Creative isolation and a stable internet connection are this EP’s secret ingredients - baked, mixed, and mastered by Truth Studios, L.A. The release sees international and inter-genre collaborations with Ashley Henry, Life On Planets, Girls Of The Internet, and Subculture.
